Those prices are amazing compared to F1.

Did they shoot that in his lounge? McLaren has certainly gone less corporate since Ron's departure!

Is that really Zac's accent? It sounds like some cockney doing a really bad cowboy.

What a great shot in the arm for Indy car racing. It's not like he is missing Azerbaijan Grand Prix to race at Indy.

Le Host may be doing IndyWeekly.com soon.

What a great idea: keep him interested and help him achieve a fine ambition, while getting some wonderful publicity. Jenson (presumably) will love doing Monaco.
As you say, Ron would never have allowed it, so it's a real marker of change.

More details and discussion here -

He'll be doing Le Mans next year in an F1 long tail...

Mark

Monaco is all about schmoozing sponsors anyway, which McLaren don't need to worry about as they have none. Big Grin

Le Mans is between Canada and Baku, both physically and chronologically. He can easily slot that in this year.

I'm so excited about this. Like they said, I don't see them going for a win, but it's always fun to see interesting drives at the 500. I think JB is an obvious fill-in. Very exciting.

Maybe 2018 partnering JB in a McLaren LMP1 entry?!

Now you're thinking. Then JB knocks off the 500 next year and two more triple crowners.

By the look of JB's instagram/twitter he's been trying to qualify for the World Triathlon Championships. His time in a recent IronMan was fast enough...but he was DQ'd for speeding in a slow zone. I guess his overall fitness won't be in question for his return.

Will definately be interesting how he handles the race

I'm not sure if we get the race down here but will definately check

I've now watched more laps of Indy Car than F1 this year. So far so good for his Rookie orientation, looks like he's already getting comfortable with the track/car. I think they said there are 200,000+ people watching the live feed, so I can only imagine what the international TV audience for the race will go up by compared to previous years.

Watching it now. I haven't watched this since the Mansell days. Unnecessarily fast.

Taku pipped Fred. I always knew he was faster.
