Wink Looking for some help.
Hey guys,

Long time no see I hope all is well and everyone is ready for the start of the new season.

Im working on a paper for college about how germany used racing to their advantage prior and during WW2. I have had no luck with research and was hoping some historian here can point me in the right direction.

Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Looking for some help.
Write to Joe Saward, I believe he is very much into that period of autosport and the politics behind it.

I think if you google german motorsport with the word hitler added you will get some leads.

RE: Looking for some help.
If you wanted to expand it beyond racing and look at motoring in general, it would be hard to ignore things like German car marques specifically (the technology, the industry as a whole) and the development of infrastructure like the Autobahn and AVUS track.

RE: Looking for some help.
Hi 919, just noticed this thread. I fully support Yaay's suggestion of 'Hitler's Motor Racing Battles'. I have a copy and it really is the authority of this era.

You may also like to subscribe to Motor Sport magazine (my connection is only as a reader for more decades than I care to reflect on!) Their website is at http://www.motorsportmagazine.com

Thing thing about Motor Sport - assuming you don't already know - it that it was first published in 1924 and subscribers have access to every single edition online. Follow the link from the homepage.

Do those two things and you're a cert for top marks and.... we hope to see your brilliant paper here soon!
