2015 Prediction Competition
And now in it's 8th year!!

Same rules as last year then:

You are predicting for each race:-

Pole Position = 3 points.
Podium = Driver on the podium =1 point
Driver in correct place on the podium = 3 points.
All three podium places correct = additional 6 bonus points.
Fastest Lap = 3 points.
10th Place = 3 points.

The picks need to be sent by PM to me before start of Friday practice (or Thursday in the case of Monaco). If you fail to get fresh picks in by the deadline, the last races picks will be rolled over.

Results are tracked on a spreadsheet supplied by the head of the F1Weekly Canadian office and Spreadsheet Department (Chemics).

I'm a red car fan, so naturally I opened up another bank account just for all the extra zeros I'm going to win at the end of this competition!

First thing in the morning for my picks

Question is can I bring myself not to predict Daniel on the podium ☺ - pre season would suggest Mercedes have the advantage in power still but Red Bull did show glimpses of improvement so they might surprise

Personally I feel it's between RBR and Williams for the bronze position: Daniel's home race may bring him home, but a lot is resting on Renault.

Yaaay

Ricciardo 2nd - even I could not bring myself to do that Smile

He didn't make practice 2 after pranging his car but the Red Bull based on the laps they have shown so far are well off the Mercedes pace - that said so is everyone else so far

I've gone for a mix up.

Surprised only Miguel and I saw Vettel on the podium, Ferrari are surely second best right now.

Always hard to tell from testing, I just find it too hard to believe they have made that much progress this winter. Guess we'll find out soon.

I, too, wrestled w/ a possible Ricciardo podium. Tough to call on the first race, and like Chemics, I never trust testing alone. Looks like we all agree on Mercedes being the top of the heap.

Just watched P3 Red Bull having a miserable time Ricciardo is already down one of his 4 engines and Kvyatt might be down one also. Ricciardo might struggle to get out of Q1.

So we have the Renault teams and McLaren potentially stuffed for the year almost out of "engine tokens" and so the restricted possibility for improving the engine.

A stupid rule that needs to be changed

RE: 2015 Prediction Competition
Looks like Ferrari's pace was genuine, for now at least: they must have spent a gondola-load of lire! James Allison has presumably been allowed to get on with it, undisturbed by the managerial butchery. Good choice.

Hopefully we may therefore see some Vettel-Raikkonen entertainment this season.

Sorry to mention it, but are Renault really as bad as they look???

Mark
