For clarification: "no one" is a legitimate entry. Which would work if there are less than 10 classified finishers.

RE: 2014 Prediction Competition.
Hello everyone,

I went through the prediction competition and suggest to leverage a pool website that's already exist www.f1-forecast.com for the 2014 season. One of the good things is the standing will be computed automatically. I just created a group named F1-Weekly on this website to compete together. For those you do not know it, F1-Forecast.com Web Site was created 9 years ago and the 1st player can win a 3-day ticket for a Grand-Prix. I played the 9 seasons. Of course it's totally free Tongue

Here are the rules:

Predict the first 3 drivers of the starting grid, the first 10 drivers of the race and the driver who will perform the best lap in race.

For the qualifications :
A driver predicted at the right position : 25 points
A driver predicted with 1 position difference : 18 points
A driver predicted with 2 positions difference : 15 points

A driver predicted among the 3 first but who is not among the 3 first in the qualification ranking : 0 point

For the race :
A driver predicted at the right position : 25 points
A driver predicted with 1 position difference : 18 points
A driver predicted with 2 positions difference : 15 points
A driver predicted with 3 positions difference : 12 points
A driver predicted with 4 positions difference : 10 points
A driver predicted with 5 positions difference : 8 points
A driver predicted with 6 positions difference : 6 points
A driver predicted with 7 positions difference : 4 points
A driver predicted with 8 positions difference : 2 points
A driver predicted with 9 positions difference : 1 point

Best lap:
The driver who drives the fastest lap during the race correctly predicted : 6 points

The forecast time limit is 5 minutes before the beginning of the qualifications. Countdowns are available on the forecast pages giving the remaining time before the closing round.

Are you in ? Hope to see you there

Hello f1boy!

It's good to see you have come back to the F1Weekly Forum. We have our Prediction Competition every year here on the F1Weekly Forum and every one is invited to participate.

It was considerate of you to set up another prediction competition and I will check it out, but (only speaking for myself) I will most likely just enjoy the prediction competition over here for now. Besides, I'm so bad at predicting and enjoy the light ribbing I get from the other members here.

As you stated- you enjoy the podcast, so I hope you will share your thoughts on drivers, teams and every thing else here on the F1Weekly forum often.

Hi Neonzapper. Fair enough. My goal was not to take over the competition from this forum. It was more a suggestion - for the users who may be interested in - to play online together. I listen the podcast regularly and really enjoy the quality of information. I will come back to the forum for sure to share my thoughts on the 2014 season and/or to predict the next race. For those you want to join me, F1-Weekly group is the name of the group I created on F1-Forecast website (see above for details).

Cheers, F1-Boy

Hello again F1-Boy. I don't think I stated myself very well. Please don't get me wrong. I don't speak for any one here but myself. I only meant to say that I'm not good at the competition game, so I wouldn't be very good at selecting P1-10 and anything more, etc. I do poorly with the few selections we have here. I think you might have a good team of forum people over there, but I was trying to state that I wouldn't be good at much more than what we have over here. That's really all I meant. (check out my standing with each competition we have had here- I like to think of myself as a good "base" Smile , but I'm really near the bottom.

And, I hope you do share your thoughts and insights with the forum here.

It will come through tonight - I have to undertake in depth investigation on the two test sessions as well as scour the internet for information before I can truly make an informed decision - no uninformed guess work for me. Sad

If Jacko doesn't make it back perhaps you should role over his last race picks - he'll probably win for this race Big Grin

Do we get a prize this year?

Yaaay yelled at me on the phone. It made me sad. I think he's just upset that Hamilton is going to win (maybe).

I am in - picks sent.

Only 5 hours 45 minutes to get your picks in!

BTW - this site has a countdown until the FP1 for each race which I find useful given I am on the other side of the world from some of these races.

Hey cool site - I joined and joined your group. I find it easy to use the site for predictions and then I just copy/paste them to a PM to YAAY for our contest.

I pushed it to a few other guys at work who are fans... both f1weekly and the prediction site, we'll see if any of them join us.

It might be late for Melbourne, but how about bonus points for picking the person who gains the most positions in the race from where they've started?

Also, how about a Over/Under on number of finishers in the race or O/U on number of finishers on the same lasp as the winner?

since picks have to be in before quali, that sounds like a bit of a lottery to me.
