The further pussy-fication of F1. Now we'll have all kinds of yahoos going wide on the first lap.

It's about time there was a real penalty for using the paved runoff areas. A drive through penalty would soon put a stop to it.

i think they should think about using the drs as a penalty. they could disable a car's drs for a certain number of laps. it would allow more proportionate penalties for small infractions like blue flag ignoring or chicane cutting. currently, the drive through is the smallest penalty the stewards have, and it often means total obliteration of that car's race.

If it were gravel or wet grass it often means complete and total obliteration of that car's race.

But it's a good suggestion, all 4 wheels leave the track, 4 laps without DRS or KERS. Easy to implement and control.
we should pass that on really.

i agree, that's why i didn't use abuse of run-off as one of my examples. it just got me thinking about how stewards don't punish minor infractions (which some run-offs are, but some aren't) because they don't have a minor penalty to dole out. this hesitation from the stewards is being exploited by some of the drivers, and it's making a mess of the officiating.

i'll put you in charge of that, since you're the one with bernie's phone number.

Pretty cool ideas you have. But the one thing that amazes me in that their safety inspection, they have still failed to identify the pit entry wall as a hazard, especially considering cars routinely cross over the while line on the final turn. Mindblowing. Someone is gonna stuff it head on, I'm telling you.

I'm talking about 1:28 to 1:31

I kind of like the drs suggestion but....

Drs isn't used lap in lap out. So it could become a non penalty. Would the removal of kers not be a better option.
