Where are the driver's feet?

Where are the driver's feet?
There seems to be an open place in all the new cars where you would assume the driver's feet would go. Are they tucked or above the empty space?

Always amazes me that their feet are at shoulder level.

Looks comfy except for the neck. And well, if you raised the feet anymore, the legs might go to sleep. In order to replicate this position, I'm going to go home and play video games in my recliner.

That's the same position I sit in when I'm playing my PS3. It's not as uncomfortable as it looks.

do you position your tv so you can only see the bottom half of it? that's my main concern with f1's driving position.

Nothing about that position looks comfortable, actually to me it looks the complete opposite

It doesn't sound safe does it? Also I never thought about the need for all of that before.

I had to Google this, and then I had to throw up. But interesting fact, the US version is filmed in my hometown.

Now back to the position...I wonder how this position strains the neck under Gs.

RE: Where are the driver's feet?
I remember several years ago Champ Car experimented with cameras inside the visor of the drivers, so you could get an approximation of what the driver sees. I know it was not exactly the same as F1, but probably similar position. It looked like the driver could barely see over the bodywork to see the track ahead.

I remember Felipe starting ahead http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfyHfXhYeBQ but he later told the press it wasn't intentional because he just couldn't see.

That was an alternate interpretation of "bubbles", not intended as pictographic evidence of Miss Devere.

That's what this is:

Flav in mankini fulfills Godwin's law in context. Although I guess referring to Max would be a closer political fit...
