RE: Rubens to Indy?
I really hope to see Rubens in Indycar. I think he will like it here.
Last few years, he had to justify that he belongs in F1 while every F1 journalists were trying to push him out or have him retire.

It would be a breadth of fresh air to come to a league that is welcoming him with open arms.
KV racing already has the budget for him if he chooses to race for them.
He will be with his "brother" Tony as his teammate.
Indy CEO Randy Bernard left the Super Bowl festivity in Indianapolis and flew down to Florida to introduce himself to Rubens.
His testing at Sebring has cast a shadow over everything in Indy paddock.

I can't see how he would refuse all this and go back to F1, looking for some testing job or HRT drive. no way.

Quote:Kanaan said Barrichello, who has a home in Orlando, has enjoyed his IndyCar experience. Kanaan told a story of eating at a restaurant in Sebring earlier in the week.

“Will Power walked up to us, sat down and we chatted,” Kanaan said. “Then Oriol (Servia), then Helio (Castroneves) sat down, then (Ryan) Briscoe, all of a sudden we had like six drivers together. When they all stand up and left he looked at me and said, is this normal? I said, actually we didn’t have enough people today.”

Kanaan shared another story about Team Penske advising Kanaan to move his car in the Sebring parking lot. Barrichello was surprised by that, too.

“He said, ‘What the hell is going on here?’ You guys are all friendly,” Kanaan said. “He couldn’t understand at first; now I think he likes the atmosphere.”

I've always liked PT because he speaks his mind and is not a mindless sponsor drone. I hope he is able to get a ride for 1 last season.

I ran into PT last year right before the 500. I told him "It's good to see you in the race again, I'm glad your back". He looked me straight in the eyes and I could see he wanted to rip my head off. He turned his head and went on his way with flames shooting out from his ears.

The guy is a character, I honestly was happy he came back and got a solid spot in the field. However with the way he acted, I have no problem with never seeing him run again.

He is his own worst enemy sometimes.

There is a rumor going around that Adrian Sutil is coming to Indycar.

RE: Rubens to Indy?
Would be nice, even if he isn't a household name in the States, he could really raise the bar regarding quality of racing. Especially with talk of less ovals and more road circuits.

RE: Rubens to Indy?
He would have to change his name, there is already a horse racing in the US with that name.

Nice track, too.

RE: Rubens to Indy?
It would appear that Rubens is getting a warm welcome from the fans, and getting the hang of Indy cars...

Quote:IndyCar teams use fuel strategy to potentially make fewer pit stops, requiring a driver be very adept at managing and “making” fuel, a new game for the F1 veteran.

Wow, the writer really knows a lot about F1...

RB makes it look easy.

I've driven that track many times in Gran Turismo.
