Baltimore's IndyCar race facing uncertain future
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/96021

What struck me was just how different the financial model is. They are paying the city to hold the race. There were 160,000 over the 3 days, same as a top attended F1 race. Of course Bernie would have charged them tens of millions to hold the race.
I'd love to know all the ins and outs of all this.

Indy is way way way behind Nascar in terms of popularity in the U.S.

People just can't get their head around the fact that corners can go both ways.

They could have two races - 250 mile clockwise and 250 mile anti-clockwise

Wow. I'm surprised to learn all of this. It was a great event, so I hope it will be repeated.

Or change half way through....although I wouldn't want to be a lap down.

Perfect, like Suzuka without the bridge/tunnel.

Vettel v's HRT on lap 7 or 8 would be interesting.

That's awesome! In that article, it states the return of engine manufacturer competition as well. I was put off by an all-Honda race at first, but slowly warmed back up to it over the years. Now we can root for more than just drivers.
