It is probably just Yaaay trying to kick me out of my coveted last place Cool
When the score is tied, doesn't "K" come before "Y"? Wink

The spreadsheet sorts based on where your name sits in the list of entries if everything else is equal.

Well, B passed A, but not without a DRS struggle. Very exciting stuff!

RE: Prediction Competition 2011
Christmas is coming and the substantial F1 Weekly cheque will soon be winging itself to me on their corporate jet. Life doesn't get any better than this.

I would particularly like to thank Seb, Adrian, Christian, Dietrich, Mr Pirelli and others to numerous to mention for their help in making this all possible.Cool

BTW A big thanks to Yaaay for the sterling work he puts into maintaining the vast statistical database based at the F1 Weekly European Corporate Centre.

RE: Prediction Competition 2011
Any thoughts on doing this for 2012?

My inclination is to go for just the podium, nice and simple. All input welcome, even from Frank.

I like the current format, too. Maybe the 10th place was not necessary, as pure luck. But we could keep pole, podium and fastest lap.

10th place was the hardest pick with the most variation. If anything it's too easy to pick the front runners when 1 driver is dominant.

Instead of the podium we should pick 8th to 10th, that would make life a little harder.

RE: Prediction Competition 2011
My inclination is that just the podium and pole doesn't allow sufficient variation but I am happy to go with the consensus - after last years showing I am determined to move up the ranking no matter what format is chosen.

Is there any truth to the rumour that our esteemed podcasters Clark, Steve & Nasir are beavering away on the renovation of a 1950 Renault 4CV luxe for the 2012 winner?

RE: Prediction Competition 2011
Yeah keep the 10th, it's a wildcard, and ads sponsor value as we look at other teams. Besides Renault at the beginning no other team visited the podium. We can't have another 2008 and 2009 when it seemed most teams visited the podium at one stage or another. In 2008 even the crappy backmarker Honda made a podium visit with Rubens.

I don't see that this year. Besides maybe Merc or a sneaky FI, I don't see other teams with silverwear.

That was my though, the podium was too consistent last year, you always had a good chance of getting a couple of people right.

Plus keeping it the same doesn't require any big spreadsheet changes Smile

RE: Prediction Competition 2011
Any more thoughts on this? We need to get started pretty soon to get it going.

My vote is to leave everything the same, it will be much faster to get up and running that way and having the 10th place pick gives some nice variation from the all to predictable pole and podium.
