RE: Ralf Schumacher takes first DTM pole
Good grief.

It's amazing what an interview with Nasir will do to a man's performance.

Well it's his first year in the current car. So how ever many races this year.

RE: Ralf Schumacher takes first DTM pole
But he always had an old car, like DC has this year. Silly that such "stars" get lumbered like that with no hope of being top 10.

RE: Ralf Schumacher takes first DTM pole
that is strange. if i ran a top dtm team, i would jump at the chance of getting a known german f1 driver into my car. seems like it would be sponsorship gold.

RE: Ralf Schumacher takes first DTM pole
We have exceeded my DTM knowledge. We should write Nasir to explain it all on the podcast.

Hakkinen was good out of the gate. Was he also racing in old cars? What about Alesi? He also debuted at a reasonable pace. Don't know how Frentzen went.

Maybe I value F1 too much, but I'm always surprised when F1 drivers leave F1 they don't dominate whatever series they go to.

Like Takuma Sato isn't being super impresive in Indycars which is now a lot lower classified than F1 comparatavely.

RE: Ralf Schumacher takes first DTM pole
I'm 99% sure the Hak was always in a current car - you couldn't put a double World F1 champ in an old crate! Although he did well for his first 2 years, in the third (if I've got my timing right) he didn't really seem to have the same motivation.
Probably had something to do with swapping Erja for a current year's model too...

Ralfie started DTM last year in a 1-year old. I'm genuinely quite impressed.

Mark

IMO, Indy currently only has a few top teams, AndrettiGreen and Penske mainly. If you aren't in those teams, you aren't going to be up front.

RE: Ralf Schumacher takes first DTM pole
Ralfie was judged to have jumped the start and was given a drive through penalty. It wasn't an obvious jump IMO.
