Why? What is that mod for?

The mod is to play pirated games. Most games I would be interested in seem to be small cheap DLC stuff anyway and the PSN network gets most the games I want and all the retro games I have in ROMS... as backups to games... I still own...

I will only buy a handful of disc games. mainly F1 and other car games.

Thank you, it was interesting to see that event and hear the various people talk about the game. It's looking like it'll turn out very well.

another check-in with the f1 2010 development. things are still looking very good. the thought of realistically modeled marble accumulation is exciting.

we're going to have to have weekly races between all the forum members with ps3s.

Here is a preview from gamespot which includes an interview.

PS3 weekly races sound great, I'm going to be purchasing one soon, mainly for this game.

Can't wait for this game to come out!

I'm curious if car times will be reflective of their years progress? For example, will the Force India cars literally be slower than the Red Bull cars in the game? Does anyone know if there is any aero development in the game? I'm guessing there isn't - simply curious.

Granted you also need to add this Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia Edition (For PS3 and PC) to give it the complete 3D experience

Hey I have blue LED's on my home PC Sad

So we got $250 for the controller - dare I ask how much the fancy box costs (with or without blue LED's), three decent monitors and the goggles?

RE: ign article on f1 2010
I will be the first one to tell you that this setup is not cheap.

But if you have the money (as I suspect some off you do) the basic setup should cost like this (all in USD)

3D Vision (glasses) = $200
Alienware 23” 120mhz Display = $450 x3 (for 3D vision surround)
NVIDIA Graphic Card that can run 3x 3D displays = You would need 2 cards running between $150 to $500 (depends on the how powerful a card you want)

If you want to do 1 single 3D display you can do it for = $750 (glasses, display, graphic card)
If you need a whole new PC as well, you can get even better deals starting at = $1200

This is not a cheap setup, but is the ultimate gaming experience

except the best racing games are on consoles. just hook up a new 3d plasma to a ps3 and play gran turismo 5 in 3d.

Would a console really be as good as the PC David describes or is the limitation software?

Can you imagine how well that would do spreadsheets?

Ohhh, imagine the formulas you could run with that baby Wink

Joking aside it would be great for work. I wonder what a 3D spreadsheet across 3 monitors would be like?

consoles are actually really powerful. the manufacturers sell the consoles at significant losses and make it up on software. sony is currently embroiled in several class action suits because they used to let people install unix on their ps3, and many researchers used them as cheap workstations, but sony removed that feature.

but really, it's all about the software. i'd rather play gran turismo on a 12 inch black and white tv than play pole position on a 72 inch plasma.

F1 2010 is less than month away from the scheduled release date of Sept. 21st. Still not much is being released about it. Gamestop doesn't even have a cover of it on their web site.

i hope everyone is getting their preorders in place. we're only 9 days away from the start of testing for the f1weekly world championship.

logitech makes the best ps3 wheels. that said, i have one and i almost never use it because they're still not good enough to feel real. i just use the controller because the wheel experience isn't good enough to justify setting it up most of the time.

platform-neutral online gameplay is one of the last golden achievements of game design. i don't see f1 2010 being the first one to achieve it.
