RE: Prediction Competition 2010
I will get mine in on time - still contemplating Smile

As an aside of the new teams what order do you think they will finish in - I anticipate Lotus should be at the head of the new team pack and BMW Sauber should be ok - Virgin is my "dark horse" who might do better than expected ---- it will be interesting to see how they fit relative to each other - I wonder if any of them will quali ahead of Force India for example

I think there will be at least a 2 second gap between the likes of Force India and Toro Rosso and the 3 new teams (I'm not counting the 2010 BMW Sauber as a new team).

Having not turned a wheel, the HRT car will face reliability and setup issues. However, I'm sure they have some of Dallara's GPS chassis data... and maybe some of Campos's GP2 chassis data as well to help out. Moreover, since the Virgin and Lotus cars (1:25.942 and 1:25.059, respectively) were lapping not too far ahead of Dallara GP2 times at Barcelona (Romain Grosjean's pole last year was 1:27.510), I wouldn't be surprised if the F1 Dallara of HRT as fast as Lotus or Virgin over a single lap in Bahrain. Howver, with minimal long run data, they might suffer immensely in the race.

My take on he grid?
Red Bull/Ferrari/McLaren
Mercedes
Sauber
Renault
Williams
Force India
Toro Rosso
Lotus
HRT
Virgin

RE: Prediction Competition 2010
I think it will be

Mercedes (Das bagger of sand)
Ferrari/McLaren
Red Bull (fragile)
Williams (Thanks to a powerful British Engine)
Sauber
Renault
Lotus (I think they are sorted organisationally)
Toro Rosso
Force India (Arrogance never got a team anywhere)
Virgin

HRT

I think the formulas I set up to aid cheating sorting the sheet should all copy OK for an expanded sheet, but you may want to check a couple of ranges to make sure they are all OK.

*does his best F. Williams*

I protest, they could take points and then I'd lose some of the money the F1Weekly rights holder would give me for next year.

It's a late entry, they won't get any money.

ah damn it! I forgot there are 10 points positions this year.
I'd put the Kubica 9th and the Sutil 10th, if no one is opposed to a late entry change?

Do we need unanimous agreement, or we are we taking the dictatorship rule and just let Yaaay decide?

To be honest, I don't think it's any easier to pick the order after todays practice anyway, and it's better to have more entries.

This prediction competition was nothing until Yaaay, the benevolent dictator and commercial rights holder, took it over.

Over the years, he's always looked after our interests, treated us well, allowed some of us to cheat, and even win some of the time. Since he's grown the F1Weekly Prediction Competition into an international event with at least 22 entries, I say we listen to him and allow last minute changes and up to 4 more entries to fill the remaining available spreadsheet space, provided no dodgy Serbians are allowed.

I'm assuming you are in contact with the commercial rights holder to know there are 4 spaces left on the sheet (seeing as I only added them this morning), either that or you're psychic...

The spreadsheet/grid can always be expanded as required, we have the programmers on standby. It wouldn't be a proper F1 competition without the last minute entries, saved with the help of the commercial rights holder anyway Smile

Hopefully the late comers can get their entries in before we get to Q3 and quali though, otherwise that might require some sanctions.
