Rossi to WRC
Autosport is reporting that Rossi will run the New Zealand GP in a privately entered Subaru. Apparently he ran the British GP back in 2002. And just when I thought I'd get over Speed not covering my sport. Wink

RE: Rossi to WRC
No word on that. everything I see treats this like a one off thing. And I don't think he's unhappy with MotoGP - Motorcycle racing is Rossi's thing - I just think he's the kind of person who like to do everything and being a world champ affords him the chance to try everything. He wants a run in a Ferrari, done. He wants to do a WRC race, done. I don't think he'll ever leave MotoGP but you never really know with him. In other words, he's a Mario Andretti, not a Michael Schumacher.

RE: Rossi to WRC
Rossi once said that circuit racing cars are not phisical enough for him to take control of the machinary. So that he likes rally cars more than cars. Please bear in mind that he was quick for a rally rookie

RE: Rossi to WRC
In my opinion, the more things Rossi is racing the better us fans have it. Rossi in WRC is brilliant! Unlike their current month break.

RE: Rossi to WRC
Aside from his 2 outings in real WRC events, the Rally GB in '02 in a Peugeot and NZ in '06 in a Subaru (where he put in a pretty good performance but finished outside the top 10 in an event that had a very poor entry by WRC standards), he has also appeared in WRC cars at the Bettega Trophy on different occasions. These are sprints for rally cars that are held alongside the Italian Auto Show. He has also frequently contested the Monza Rally, finally winning it last year, which I believe was his first win with too many wheels (2 too many).

Aside from his better-known F-1 testing and appearing in the Race of Champions, as I recall he has also in the past tested a few sports cars (e.g. the Maserati GT car) and the DTM car for Mercedes.

Disappointed Edwards will lose his seat but he will still be in a Yamaha
