as an american, i have no actual experience with french cars. that said, the sportier versions of the megane and clio have looked good to me on top gear and in gran turismo.

Don't forget the Peugeot (or Pig-Out as we used to call them) 505 Diesel. The only car that Consumer Reports ever rated as having inadequate acceleration. Zero to 60 in 21 seconds!

Don't forget VENTURI or the 504 coupé and cabriolet.
