Baked Beans United

Baked Beans United
I’m surprised I haven’t mentioned this before, or maybe I have. My wife has banned me from buying baked beans due to the gas problems it causes me. I’m sure you all already know what issues beans cause, and in the past I have been very ‘wary’ of eating beans if I know of a public engagement coming up in the next week.

But In my mind, my wife was wrong to impose a Baked Bean Prohibition, as its just plain mean. The ban has been around for the last 2 weeks, but now that she has gone, I can eat in comfort.

I have popped down to the local tesco, and brought all the baked beans left on the shelf (not many, surprisingly). My plan now, is to find a hiding place to store a baked bean supply, so I will have a stockpile for when she returns.

This is a interactive topic made by Trickydicky, it is a true story. As part of being a interactive topic, I will be shortly asking for forum members suggestions of where to hide the beans. In my next post, I will be using pictures to show possible storage locations.

I eat baked beans almost on a daily basis. They are a staple you could say. Eating xxx hot curries regularly means any bean related flatulence is minor.

This is a secret I rarely share but it works, 100% guaranteed. When ever you eat Baked Beans, immediately after the meal, eat a good handful of parsley. Try it, you know you want to.

Anyway, interactivity.

IS there a food stuff in tins which MrsTD doesn't eat? Change the labels on the bean tins to what ever she doesn't like and hey presto, safe beans.

Have you ever tried Bean-o? It looks like a cheesy advert, but if it works, you can settle the dispute amicably and with both sides winning.

Ah, but the fact that you eat curries as well is bound to reduce the relative impact of the beans. After all with a curry on the go you won't even notice the effect of the beans.

Did you know that the methane thus produced is a greenhouse gas and is a far worse one than CO2?

Keep them in the garage in one of the cabinets. Since they are tinned they don't need to be refridgerated.

RE: Baked Beans United
Before we come up with hiding places, we should look at the bigger picture.

Mrs. TD knows that beans have a detrimental effect on her hubby's digestion and hence on her house.

If TD hides all of Tesco's stock of tinned beans in the beer fridge in the garage (now there's a thought) he is going to consume it at some stage and then the secret will be (literally) out.

What TD really needs is beans that don't produce greenhouse gases thus keeping everyone happy. Failing that the garden will have to be turned over to parsley.

I have always heard that beans only give you gas if undercooked.

Now there's a suggestion.

TD, just put the little buggers in the pot and simmer for the day. You'll then just get a bean smell throughout the house.

But by the time she finds out it will be too late for her to do anything about it.

Ya well they would be digested in TD's stomach by then, but still doesn't keep from a fuming Mrs. TD.

I can't quite read the label on the bottle on the left. What is it?

Three cans of Tesco's finest in the one afternoon? The house will be a fire hazard.

Lets just say, the postman wasn't invited in

The beans have been bagged up, and I went looking for a possible location

Possible location 1

Here is my first idea for a possible storage location. My wife won’t touch the rabbits ever since one attacked her.

Pros:
-Only kids and me open up the cage
-Safe from robbers
-She would never guess

Cons:
-Rabbits could push beans down the ramp, thus damaging tin
-The rabbits could piss all over the tins
-The tins could get smelly
-What would the kids/kids friends think!
-Very cold

I didn't realise they did blue rabbits.

Mrs. TD was attacked by a rabbit?
