This sounds like it'll be a good way to celebrate the end of the 2010 season:

sounds interesting. i'll be on the lookout for it.
I wonder how widely it will be in Cinemas...and how I will convince my wife she wants to come and see it with me!!
I hope it gets distributed in the US.
I enjoyed the last documentary on him that was released 10 years after his death. This one sounds like more centimental view of him.

What ever happened to the biopic starring Antonio Banderaz?

It says it will be worldwide in the comments at the bottom of the article. It just remains to be seen how widespread it is in theaters. It might only make it into some smaller arty screenings or go straight to DVD.
i would expect straight to dvd except for brazil and a few medium-level festivals.
As long as I can get it, straight to DVD is okay. So based on other comments in this thread this is not the Antonio Banderas movie? Did that movie never make it off the ground?

He is a real race fan, albeit bikes. He has his own Moto2 team this year and has plans to move up to MotoGP in a few years. It's good to see Hollywood stars put some of their money behind projects like this and get involved beyond hanging out on the grid at Monaco.

You are forgetting the late great Paul Newman.

BTW - Does Gene Simmons writing a truly horrible theme song for IndyCar count?

There aren't many, I think Michael Jordan had an AMA team at some level as well. A full blown MotoGP team would be a pretty big investment though.
Japanese trailer for the film.

awesome
Fantastic !!!
Chills...
i like that the filmmakers seem to be portraying him honestly. i was worried they might sugar coat his ruthlessness, as has become common these days.
