I just worked it out with my new job, that I can make plans around the Shanghai gp April 19th. Who'll be here?
I live in Suzhou which is about an hour and half away from the circuit, and they do bus tours from here. If there's a contingent, I can make my way to Shanghai too

I'm going to be in Xiamen for 2 weeks in April. I'm going to try to price out a flight to Shanghai and I might be able to join you!
I'm in hong kong might pop down
Sweet! I have looked at the official site, and it's around 3900 rmb (full weekend) for grandstand A seats. I'm looking at the 660rmb (Sunday only) grandstand C seats (I'm kinda poor), but my Chinese friends reckon I can get a one day grandtsand pass for a reasonable price. Anyways due to work, I can only do Sunday anyway.
You guys been before?

What'll you be doing there, TD? [That you can tell us about...]
We lived there for a year in 1985, and were married at St. Joseph's Church on Garden Road.
Lived there too 1986 - 1989 in Happy Valley - worked for the Jockey Club - no I wasn't a horse or a jockey. Funny the security guys were all ex MI5 and MI6 and the head of Club's undercover security wasa 6' balding white guy with ginger hair. He was really able to blend with the local raceday crowd.
Still miss thta place after 20 years
... and Macau GP was great
Hmmm... Looks like I'll be doing a chinese celebrity dog show in Shanghai on the 18th. Almost missed the GP again. Will be there though. Indy's good and all, but only if F1 is not around!
Anyway, my phone number: 13732 638441 feel free to text me or call, but my chinese is rubbish. Actually just talk English, or Hungarian, but I'll be fine in Polish and french. It's Asian I struggle with.

Errr. I hate to ask, judging or competing (with a pet of course).
Yes, indeed.
Now, I don't want to suggest anything out of line here, but its said the Chinese in Hong Kong will eat anything that moves and almost anything that doesn't, and all those outlets in Yaumatei that look like pet shops, errrrm, aren't...
Sorry guys I'm out for the Chinese GP. I will be in Singapore at that time. The only plus is I won't have to wake up at 3am to watch the race!

Wow, that's about $571 American dollars. That is <obscene gerund> expensive!
Just in case you do not know a "gerund" is a word ending in "ing".

I'm going with a friend who has to be there as some of the pet owners will be wearing her shoe designs. I'll be there to just check it out. Something weird to experience in China again

Baaaah! I have mixed emotions!!

I'm missing out on an other GP because of work

This time though instead of teaching ungrateful chinese kids English, I'm having a VIP lunch with the director of Kung Fu Panda.
So my only hope for a GP this year is, if I can organize a business trip to Japan around the Suzuka GP.

Probably then I have to find a way to jump between cosplay nerds and asian petrol heads!
Probably need to hang out with the initial D guys (It's a mainstream japanese comic about street racers)

Can't get down to Singapore?
Well at least you have a few races on your continent!
Nah, I'm broke, and I started a job designing action figures for Japan, so now I spend my days drawing Japanese school girls and robots. I'll be traveling to Japan to meet shops, distributors and stuff like that, and sit in the Osaka office for 2 days. This will be around every two months.
I have no business in Singapore
